Life has been a little calmer lately now that our summer travels are all behind us. We're in the brief lull in this year between a busy summer and a coming baby, so we've taken advantage these last couple of weeks to go on walks and admire the beauty of our own neighborhood, eat delicious meals here at home, explore nearby towns, and work on some much-needed home-improvement.
Our happy girl loves to be outside! And her momma loves glowy woods in the mornings, early signs of fall, and gorgeous skies. And that butterfly? It mocked me for over a week. I just wanted to take a simple picture of it, but every time I crept close to take one it would fly off just as I picked up my camera. I honestly hear laughing, but I finally prevailed. :)
Yum. I already shared about my new favorite coffee treat, but we've also been enjoying breakfast on the porch (now that the temperatures in the morning are lower than I-want-to-live-in-an-igloo). And what better way to celebrate a long weekend than with homemade crepes with lemon curd and blueberries? My favorite!
A nearby town holds a mini street festival once a month, and we've been saying for about 2 years that we needed to check it out. We finally threw out every excuse last weekend and actually went, and I am so glad we did! It was awesome! They had pony rides and a mini petting zoo, yummy food and a biergarten, a playground and tons of small-town charm. We will definitely be back!
The hill in our backyard is basically a jungle and has been since we moved in. We've tried to tame it once or twice but were never consistent with it, and, considering it had been neglected for at least a year before we even bought out house, consistency is what it desperately needs. We finally talked about what we want to do back there and started on it last weekend. I'll keep you updated on progress in my next Life Lately Photo Recap!
