The Best Maple-Vanilla Latte with Cinnamon

With naps being short and less than sweet this week I was really in need of a delicious coffee treat by the time this morning rolled around. I am also willing to confess that I'm a sucker--a major sucker-- for a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Last year I figured out how to make my own at home, and I honestly think it's better than the one from Starbucks (though I do love a morning to myself in a coffee shop with a book or good music or a writing goal to accomplish). While grocery shopping this week, I gave serious consideration to buying some pumpkin puree specifically to make my own pumpkin spice latte this morning, but, considering it's still regularly in the 80s+ here (uggh) my practical side won out, and I decided to wait just a bit longer in hopes that the temperatures will eventually match my fall-loving mood.

All that to say I had to come up with a new idea for my coffee this morning since there was no pumpkin in my cupboards. There was, however, a brand-spanking-new bottle of real maple syrup. BINGO! Thus was born the best Maple-Vanilla Latte with Cinnamon I've ever had. Since you may also be needing a little coffee boost sometime, I thought I'd share the recipe here. This would be delicious hot or iced and in any season, and it goes perfectly with French toast and yogurt. :) Enjoy, and happy long weekend!

The Best Maple-Vanilla-Cinnamon Latte

What you need:

1-1.5 cups brewed coffee of your choice

3/4 cup-1 cup milk of your choice (I used 1% this morning because that's what I had)

1 tsp grass-fed butter

1-2 Tbsp real maple syrup

Splash of vanilla extract OR 1/2 scoop vanilla whey protein (I used the protein powder)

Sprinkle of ground Cinnamon

What you do:

If you want your latte hot, heat the milk on the stove. Put the coffee, milk, butter, syrup, and vanilla in the blender and bled for about 1 minute or until the butter is fully melted. Pour into the mug or glass of your choice and sprinkle a touch of Cinnamon on top.

See that lovely froth? That's what the butter and whey protein provide. I know it sounds weird, but, trust me, it's DELICIOUS! So creamy and frothy and perfect for this dreary day. :)

Just in case you need a little reminder that Fall is coming.

I am so excited to share that I have been asked to become a regular contributor at Her View From Home! I am more than thrilled to write for them, and I couldn't have done it without you guys. Thank you for reading what I write! I've just had a third article posted over there that I'd love for you to check out. I think it's the best I've written so far.
