July: A Photographic Recap

I'm sure we've all said this at least once today, but it must be said again: how in the world is it already August! July certainly didn't linger, and, before we know it, the days will be growing short, the mornings will be cool, crisp, and misty, and everything will be pumpkin flavored. I'm not complaining. I can never choose a favorite season because I look forward to them all in their own time with equal excitement, but there's just something about autumn that keeps me excited longer than any of the other seasons.

Anyway, the start of a new month seems like the perfect time to do my first photo recap. A few of you encouraged me to begin doing this, so we'll see how it goes. My plan is to do two photo recaps each month, but it may grow bigger than that, and that's okay, too.

July was a busy month for us, and August isn't likely to be any different between beach trips and family visits and rolling out a new aspect to As Told By Amy (I can't wait to share it with you!), so let's look back and remember the beautiful moments we had this July. We crammed as much fun into one month as we possibly could, and I'm excited to share it with you today. So, sit back, grab a cup of coffee, and enjoy. :)

Our garden bloomed!

We frequented various splash parks to get outside and keep cool.

Can't you just feel the joy!?

Auntie Gaga came for a weekend, and took a day trip to the city and found...a splash park!

I photographed my first event: a baby shower!

We visited our favorite state: Virginia and swam in creeks with cousins, aunts, and uncles!

We soaked up every breath of that sweet Virginia breeze!

I baked bread with the cutest little Sioux-chef the world has ever seen!

And then we ate it. :)

We treasured the long days by going on evening walks as a family.

We added regularly to our pine cone collections; not one could be left behind!

Our garden grew.

We feasted on summer delicacies like fresh corn...

...and peaches....

July also found me being published on an online magazine for the first and second times ever! If you haven't read my articles, I'd love for you to head over and check them out. The first addresses some momma fears, and the second goes into finding out a second baby is on the way before the first even makes it out of the baby year. Feel free to like, comment, and share, and, while you're there, check out some of the other contributors! How well our posts do is determined by how many unique views our posts attract over the first 30 days, so we're counting on you, dear readers!

July, you were certainly good to us. Now on to August!
